Mercedes-Benz of Marin Featured in ‘The Star ® Magazine’
Thank you Mercedes-Benz Club of America Guests
We are thrilled to be mentioned in October’s edition of The Star ® Magazine, official subscription of for the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.
In May 2016, we were fortunate to welcome thirteen members of MB’s Club of America San Francisco Bay Area Section. Long-time Mercedes-Benz of Marin technician and Mercedes-Benz vehicle expert, Joe Shirado, held a lesson sharing the phenomenal brake system on Mercedes-Benz latest models. The lesson began with an exposed brake and dove into further detail of how Mercedes-Benz braking innovations work.
Not only does Mercedes-Benz hold the patent for the first car, but they have also invented brake systems that have changed vehicle safety and functionality forever. In 1978, Daimler-Benz created the Antilock Braking System (ABS) allowing drivers to maintain control of the car even when braking. A few years later, they unveiled Emergency Brake Assist or BAS® which allowed the driver to apply more pressure and stop quicker during emergencies. Currently all new Mercedes-Benz models come standard with Hill-Start Assist to prevent rollback on hills, automatic brake drying in wet conditions, plus many more in line with the standard Electronic Stability Control Program. Plus, the advanced braking systems can now also be integrated with the vehicle’s radar sensors for autonomous braking with Cross-Traffic, Pedestrian Recognition, Stop-and-Go Cruise Control, plus many more. Constant innovations have changed the automobile immensely and continue to make Mercedes-Benz vehicles one of the safest in the world.
It was a pleasure to host the Mercedes-Benz Club of America Members and we thank The Star ® Magazine for sharing our dealership.
